TMZ, This isn't Hollywood - Just Wall-street

So this year, with the influx of wins - came the associated influx of fans. At the beginning of the season, The Blue Fandom - or Big Blue Nation - grew exponentially in a matter of months. From the Summer of '09 to December '10, people were dusting off their blue shirts and Richie Farmer jerseys for a chance to ride the blue tide. But that happens to teams. A team is good, people watch, a team is bad, they tune away. This year seems to be the same, but with a twist. The fans that flocked to see John Calipari's herd seem to be a bit bigger, more well known breed than the normal fly-by-night, change teams like changing shirts, normal fan. I thought we could take a look today to see some of the more notable new UK fans:

- Michael Douglas December 9 (New York) vs UConn. Sitting with Pat Riley(c/o '67). The orignal man on 'Wall'street, maybe Douglas was taking notes for Wallstreet 2 coming out this year.

- Mike Tomlin January 9 (Lexington) vs Georgia. Guest motivational speaker to the Cats in the locker room. Calipari is from Pittsburgh, and has brought the fanbase with him.

- Lebron James January 30 (Lexington) vs Vanderbilt. The honorary Y in KENTUCKY at half, turned into designing shoes and jerseys.

- Dierks Bentley February 20 (Nashville) vs Vanderbilt ... ok he was cheering for Vandy. But you didnt see him come out for any other Vandy games...and he probably isn't that famous either come to think about it.

- Magic Johnson February 27 (Lexington) vs Tennessee. I doubt we turned the Spartan, but it was awesome to see him wear Blue and be the honorary Y in KENTUCKY at half.

- Ben Roethlisberger February 27 (Lexington) vs Tennessee. Played second fiddle to Johnson. Another sign Calipari has turned Steeler country into Cat Country.

- Charles Barkley March 3 (Athens) vs Georgia. Let a playa play. He may have been there for the Dawgs, but he may have left with Mark Fox's wife.

We know Calipari has done a fantastic job turning the cats into winners, but what about his job turning Lexington into Hollywood???

  2. Thanks for stealing my idea for this article even though I haven't told anybody I was going to do it. Back to the ole drawing board!
P.S. Wall Street II looks like it might be the worst movie ever made. Even worse than Surrogates, Mr. Ferguson.
