Seems these days everyone is a hater and on this blog, as expected, its a Kentucky vs Louisville kind of hatred. I thought, lets see some others and their hate in today's news and views:
- Tubby Smith has now been mentioned as the tier two candidates for the opening at Oregon. It appears Minnesota will decline to match any offer around the $3million/year mark Oregon, at the backing of Nike, may offer Smith. So if Minnesota wasn't basketball purgatory, Oregon may be closer.
- (4)Kentucky womens team beat (1) seed Nebraska last night. They advance to the Elite 8 for the first time since the inaugural NCAA women's championship in 1982. While Elite 8's are still not worth hanging banners or celebrating, congratulations to a team selected to finish #11 in the SEC.
- Another former Kentucky coach is still in the coaching carousel. Billy Gillispie is still in talks with Houston for the opening. I wonder if they are just working out an alcohol/personal driver policy or if they just can't get him to sign the contract.
- Tiger returns to golfing with his trip to Augusta, GA on April 5-11th. Fitting according to National Organization for Women (NOW) since members at Augusta are "all chauvinists themselves. It's a perfect fit. He'll be welcomed. These people have a fundamental disregard for women."
