Things that have nothing to do with college basketball

  • Ben Roethlisberger is scheduled to meet with NFL head cheese Roger Goodell. This does not bode well for Mr. I Can't Keep My Hands to Myself. Whenever a current NFL player meets with The Warden some type of stern warning or suspension happens. Please reference Pacman Jones, Plaxico Burress, Mike Vick and Donte Stallworth.

  • Here is more proof that Bret Favre can do whatever he wants. Brad Childress, the pseudo-coach of the Vikings, has put no time table on Favre's comeback or retirement commitment. So, Favre can miss mandatory OTA's, any type of off season meetings, most of training camp and still come in and be the man. That's a great message to send to the team and the rest of the NFL. Who does this guy think he is, Roger Clemens?

  • Did anyone catch that Tiger Woods interview? Yeah, me neither. Apparently Golf's Bad Boy said he "couldn't stop" cheating on his hot wife and he is "nervous" about returning to the Masters. I don't think he has much to worry about. Nike and the PGA will make sure that nobody asks him any lewd questions and all Tiger haters will be removed from the course. As for his "Sexual Addiction", I sure hope that he has that under control now.

  • The Red Sox and Josh Beckett will have contract discussions at the end of this season. This is a double edged sword. Beckett will want to pitch lights out in order to max out a deal with the Sox or some other team. This could mean that the combination of Beckett, Lester and Lackey could be one of the best in the majors. The bad news is that if Beckett wins 20 or more games, contends or wins the Cy Young then he may be gone. To someplace like New York to play for the Yankees. Ouch.

  1. The video of Tiger's speech yesterday has been watched over 800,000 times in less than 23 hours. I'd say people may not have watched it live, but they are watching it now.
