The #1 ranked Syracuse Orangemen were piled high and ripe for the picking coming into Freedom Hall this afternoon. The Orange rode a winning streak of 4 games but the soft stroke of Louisville's Kyle Kuric and hard rockus record setting crowd of 20,135 people squeezed out the win for the Cards(ok it was 78-68 but I wanted to use another orange reference).
An injury to Jerry Smith during the first half, opened time for Kuric to score 22 points in the second. In front of Louisville legends including "Nervous" Pervis Ellison and "Doctor of Dunk" Darrel Griffith, Kuric sent the Cards out in fashion with a pair of "White Men Can Jump" dunks late that undoubtedly made the Doctor himself look in awe.
The Cards season sweep of the orange undoubtedly puts the Cards in the NCAA tournament no matter what happens with the Cards in their first game of the Big East Tournament (Wednesday at 9:00pm).
