Steve Alford's Sticks and Stones: News of the Day

  • Chad Ochocinco-Johnson was selected to be on Dancing with the Stars. This seems a bit unfair - he has past dance experience, including the 4 touchdowns celebrations from 2008 and 9 in 2009.
  • 6th months after T.O. was cut from my fantasy football team, he was cut by the Buffalo Bills. Strangely enough, it was for the same reasons, being unproductive and overpriced (4th round pick)
  • Former Indiana player under Bobby Knight and current New Mexico head Coach Steve Alford learned at least one lesson from Knight. Alford was caught giving the business to BYU 6th man Jonathan Tavernari after a #12 UNM win over #11BYU and is under investigation (turn down your speakers as it's semi-NSFW).
  • Shaquille O'neal's giant right thumb had surgery. After the surgery, Shaq's thumb was upset that it may be ruining Lebron's chance at a championship - at least in Cleveland.

  1. You forgot to mention Erin Andrews as a contestant. That is a more interesting story to me. Chad Ochocinco won't make me interested in the show. Erin Andrews will. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/news/story?id=4958335
