Meshing academics with athletics

John Calipari will speak today at an open forum on how student athletes can combine academics with athletics. As part of a special forum that begins at 3:30 p.m, the talk is open to the public and takes place in Room 106 of the White Hall Classroom Building.

It is the second talk in a series started by College of Pharmacy faculty member,  Joseph L. Fink III, who serves as UK's Faculty Athletics Representative to the Southeastern Conference and the NCAA.

An interesting topic chosen for Calipari, after his 2009-2010 basketball team caught quite a bit of heat after the fall semister grades were posted, showing the team to have a cumulative grade-point average of 2.025.

  1. Ha Ha Ha Ha! What a crock of BS! What is Coach Cal going to talk about? Better yet, maybe he can bring in Bledsoe and Duh-Marcus to lend their insights. And then Orton can talk about taking satellite classes in California after leaving campus.

What a frickin' joke this is.

  2. You know what else is a joke: Louisville's 2010 basketball team. Ricky P sure did a great job recruiting! All 2 players he he got to come to Duh-Ville should really make a difference!
