Loss of a Lost Boy

In non-sports related news, Canadian Corey Haim - right - (38) was found dead today. Initial thoughts are that Haim died of a drug overdose. Haim was widely known to use narcotics and has been associated with drugs since his arrival to fame when he was 12 years old. Haim was the star of many great late 80's movies including:
  • License to Drive
  • The Lost Boys
  • Lucas
  • The Double 0 Kid
  • Watchers
Personally, having HBO as a fat 10 year old kid in the early 90s, my summer afternoons were filled with sitting on the couch watching repeat after repeat of Lucas, License to Drive, and The Lost Boys nearly every day. It's sad to hear the news about Haim, since I grew up watching him steal girls from Charlie Sheen and fight for fame with Corey Feldman, but as a child star and seeing him dwendle in career and physcial appearence, it really isn't all that shocking.

  1. It's a sad day for all of us that are children of the 80's. My personal fave was The Lost Boys. Lucas was a very close second. That scene where he has atomic balm is in jock strap is a classic.

Plus he hooked up with a young Winona Ryder in that movie. She "stole" his heart.
