Lefty leaves Tiger drama behind

Phil Mickelson and Lee Westwood began the last pairing today at 2:40 Eastern, 10 minutes after Tiger Woods began his chase to track down Westwoods 4 shot lead and end a storybook Masters. Woods struggled to a -3 today, breaking his vow at times. Frustrated with his strokes and even lashing out at himself for the second day under CBS mics.

Mickelson eventually took home the green jacket at -16 (-5 on the day). His closest competition was Westwood who began the day with a one shot lead on ol' Lefty but finished 3 back.

Woods had a great weekend finishing T4th at -11, it just wasn't first place. It wasn't him wearing the jacket. It wasn't that ESPN storyline that had been bled for months. He may view the fourth place finish as unsuccessful, but for his first event back, I call it remarkable that he did so well. So enjoy your SportsCenter for another week or two, until the next big TMZ story appears or at least until Tiger plays the next event.
