Let the Sun Shine: News and Notes

Things got heated yesterday because of a seemingly innocent Brandon Knight article. Tempers once again flared in the never-ending, eternal UK vs. UofL pissing contest. So, who was the winner in yesterday's disagreement? There are never any true winners here unless you count what actually happens on the court or on the field, and I think we all know who has the edge on that one as of right now. Just sayin'. Let's move on and let the sunshine of peace and brotherhood fill Sportsthat today! Let's get started:

  • "We do not prosecute morals. We prosecute crimes." That was the statement that Georgia's District Attorney made concerning the dropping of the sexual assault case against Steeler's quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Ben looked like a greasy pimp yesterday with his hair slicked back and his 5 0'clock shadow during his press conference with the Steelers. All that was missing was a toothpick in his mouth and an elongated pinkie nail painted pink. Ben talked about being a good role model for kids, being a good guy in the community, being a leader on the field, yadda, yadda, yadda... Two strikes Ben. One more and you are out. Good luck with your meeting with The Comish today.
  • Syracuse's guard Wes Johnson is declaring for the draft early as is WVU's forward Devin Ebanks. Good luck to both.
  • Marquis Teague was a stud in the Boo Williams Invitational (wtf is that?) this weekend and was described as being "unguardable". The UofL and UK recruit has made headlines for both schools as of late by putting off his 2011 commitment until a later date, thus giving the indication that he is not totally sold on UofL and he is heavily considering Kentucky. Louisville's own Rick Bozich is calling for the Cats to land Teague and he is going to leave the Louisville faithful with a broken heart. 2009 was a little too early to start bragging about the 2011 class. I am of the opinion that until Teague commits to Kentucky that he is a UofL recruit.
  • The Nets lost by 10 to the Bobcats last night but Terrence Williams had 21 points and 13 rebounds. How's that for an olive branch to the Louisville readers?
  • Brandon Knight is going to commit to Kentucky tomorrow and it's going to rock. Just sayin'.

That's all for now! More updates as the day goes on.

  1. Thank you for the bit on TWill. You have to admit that even though he's on a bad team, he's been playing really good ball the last couple weeks. Plus, he's good for a SC Top 10 play at least once a week.
