Boogiewoogie Plays Soothsayer

I am a soothsayer, to this point there is no debate, so it is my job to now predict the wins and losses of the three teams that I follow the most: the Cats, the Cards and the Fighting Irish. One of these three will make a bowl game this year. The other two will spend the post season crying and saying, "If only we could have played better!"

The Kentucky Wildcats:
9/04 at Louisville-W
9/11 vs. Western Kentucky-W
9/18 vs. Akron- W
9/25 at Florida-L
10/02 at Ole Miss-W
10/09 vs. Auburn-W
10/16 vs. South Carolina-L
10/23 vs. Georgia-L
10/30 at Mississippi State-L
11/06 vs. Charleston Southern-W
11/13 vs. Vanderbilt-W
11/27 at Tennessee-W

This is the year the Cats beat the Vols. I'm calling it now. The Vols are waaaaaayyyy down this year and if Kentucky doesn't do it this year, they never will. I also predict that the Cats still will not beat The Ole Ball Coach. Wait til next year for that one. The most important games that the Cats have to win this year are Ole Miss, Auburn or Mississippi State. They have to win two of those three games to make a bowl game look like a real possibility. If they win all three, then we are looking at a New Year's day bowl. Let's see how it pans out. This could be a HUGE year. No LSU, Arkansas or Alabama from the west. This is the schedule that they have to take advantage of. 8-4 or 9-3 is a real possibility.

The Dirty Cardinals:
9/04 vs. Kentucky-L
9/11 vs. Eastern Kentucky-W
9/18 at Oregon State-L
10/02 at Arkansas State-L
10/09 vs. Memphis-W
10/15 vs. Cincinnati-L
10/23 vs. Connecticut-L
10/30 at Pittsburgh-L
11/06 at Syracuse-W
11/13 vs. USF-W
11/20 vs. West Virginia-L
11/26 at Rutgers-L

The Cards have a really difficult road schedule playing at Oregon State (one of the loudest places in all of college football), Pitt and Rutgers. But their home schedule gives them Cincy, UConn and WVU at Papa John's but this is not the year that the Cards make strides and get some wins. They just won't have the talent to compete. I would say that Louisville can take advantage of the easy Big East but not this year.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish:
9/04 vs. Purdue-L
9/11 vs. Michigan-W
9/18 at Michigan State-L
9/25 vs. Stanford-L
10/02 at Boston College-L
10/09 vs. Pitt-L
10/16 vs. Western Michigan-W
10/23 at Navy-W
10/30 vs. Tulsa-W
11/13 vs. Utah-L
11/20 vs. Army-W
11/27 at USC-L

I have the Irish going 5-7 with easy wins against Army, Tulsa, and Western Michigan (this game could be an upset). The other games are somewhat confusing to me. The Irish lost Jimmy Clausen and Golden Tate on offense and they will be difficult to replace. I just don't have confidence that the Golden Domers are going to be good under first year coach Brian Kelley. Give them another year and I think that they will be waking up the echoes again in South Bend.
