Bad News Friday: The Istanbull stays Home

Ok, so it's not the end of the world but I am getting a little nervous. Enes Kanter will not be making the trip with the rest of the Cats to Canada because he has not be cleared by the NCAA. Kanter will remain in Lexington with his father while the rest of the boys in blue will be balling north of the border.

I can't call this Kanter situation. His case is kind of new for the NCAA since they changed some rules that allow foreign born players to play for professional teams overseas, allow them to accept food, allow them to accept room and board, but does not allow them to get paid. Kanter did all of the above except get paid.

The NCAA is doing exhaustive research regarding Kanter. I have no faith whatsoever in the NCAA. They are not consistent and follow whatever rules that they see fit while ignoring others. Coach Cal is confident that Big Enes will be ready for the first game of the regular season. Here is to hoping!
Some sports writers have stated that if UK gets to the Final Four this year that Kanter will be the reason. He is the best player on the team according to John Calipari. If Kanter is ruled ineligible for the season then the Cats will have to rely on an undersized line-up.
On a positive note, Jorts will get some major PT in Canada. He will get some much needed experience and we will see what he has to offer.
Go Cats!
