This morning, Bowling Green standout Chane Behanan made it official and committed to the Louisville Cardinals. Behanan made the wise choice, as he spurned that snake down in Lexington, and chose to play in the best basketball arena in the nation.
As reported earlier, Behanan is the #1 rated player in the state of KY, and he is currently the #7 rated PF in the entire nation. Eric Crawford noted earlier that this commitment to the Cards represents a potential shift in power. Behanan, Quincy Miller, Deuce Bello, and Josiah Turner were all visiting U of L together, and Miller and Bello are looking to make a decision very soon.
According to Miller (@qmillertime): "Congrats to my brotha @ChaneBehanan21 for committing to the Louisville! Big things gonna happen"
Per Bello (@deucebello): "Congrats to my bro @ChaneBehanan21! L's up!! Ha Ha"
Seth Davis (@SethDavisHoops) also adds: "Louisville got big-time commitment today from 6-7 Chase Behanan, with more players to come. So much for Pitino's trial hurting recruiting."
"Sorry, meant to tweet Chane Behanan, not Chase. On deck for the Ville: @qmillertime."
Behanan was quoted as saying that he chose Louisville because he "just bonded real well with the players and coaches. I just based it all off my comfort zone and the location." Behanan had interest from a host of schools including Ohio State, North Carolina, Kentucky, West Virginia among others, but he was impressed with Rick Pitino and how he recruited him.
Behanan is the fourth verbal commitment for Louisville's 2011 class, joining 5-star Wayne Blackshear, 4-star Zach Price, and 3-star Ryan Taylor. "We will be unstoppable," Behanan said, referring to adding Miller and Bello.
Welcome to the Ville Chane, and Go CARDS!!!
If UofL gets all of those guys then the 2011 game in Rupp is going to be sick.
