Reggie Bush is Heismanless and other news and notes

There are tons of things to get to today. No funny business. Let's do it!

  • Current Saints running back and former Trojan running back Reggie Bush is going to lose his 2005 Heisman due to numerous NCAA infractions. This is the first time that the Heisman committee in it's 75 year history has ever made a player give back his trophy. USC had already removed it's copy from it's Hall of Fame. No decision has been made on whether or not Vince Young, who was the Heisman runner up, will retroactively receive the award. Sucks to be Reggie! At least he has Kim Kardashian to...oh, wait.

  • Derrell Revis is off of Revis Island and back in Jets green. Revis finally worked out a deal and will join the team. I still think the Sanchize is WAY overrated. The Jets backed into the playoffs last year and I don't think they are Super Bowl caliber, at least on offense.

  • One word can describe last night's game between Virginia Tech and Boise State: Wow. There was exciting QB play from the Hokies Tyrod Taylor and the Broncos' Kellan Moore. In the end, BSU eeked out a 3 point victory after leading the first quarter 17-0. One thing that Tech had over their opponent were those bad ass uniforms. Moore came through in the clutch and marched the Broncos down the field with 2 minutes remaining and threw the winning TD pass. If Boise beats Oregon State expect them to be in the BCS title game. Also expect Moore to be a Heisman finalist.

  • SEC defensive player of the week: Danny Trevathan. The UK LB recorded 11.5 tackles against Louisville and earned the distinguished honor among teams like LSU, Alabama, Florida and Auburn. Go Cats.

  • Quick Hits: Leinart to Texans, Whosurmama to Ravens, Haynesworth maybe back to Titans, Dixon starter for Steelers, Ben Rapisberger is no longer a captain, Randy Moss in complaining, Big East looked bad, SEC looked good besides Vandy and Ole Miss, I can't wait for this weekend's awesome match ups. More on that later.

WHEW! And the NFL hasn't even started yet!
