Randy Moss is My Hero: News and Notes

Future Hall of Famer Randy Moss is on the market.

Randy Moss was just waived by the Vikings after only 4 games with them. The Vikes lost again last night to the Patriots, Moss' old team. After the loss, Moss hugged Patriots coach Bill Belichick, told the media he would be interviewing himself the rest of the season, backhanded the Vikes by stating that the Patriots were a class organization led by the greatest coach of all time and how much he missed being there. Ouch.

Moss is just saying what every other player on the Vikings wants to say but lacks the guts say: the organization is a joke. Brad Childress is hated among his players and the Brett Favre fiasco has turned into THE identity of a team that should be about players like Adrian Peterson, Jared Allen and Percy Harvin. Moss is tired of the pissing contest going on between Favre and Childress and Favre's diva like behavior. Nobody on the team stood up to what was wrong. Once Moss did, they cut him. Just like that.

The perfect end to this story would be Moss rejoining the Pats and winning that Super Bowl that they lost to the Giants. I am sure Vikings fans will be grateful to be rid of Favre and Childress at the end of the season. I would be willing to bet that if Tevaris Jackson would have been the starter from day one the Vikings would have more than 2 wins.

On to the News!

  • Are you ready for some exhibition basketball?!?!? Sure you are, especially after the football team's lackluster performance. UK is set to play Pikeville coming out of the NAIA. My guess at the starting five: Knight, Miller, Jones, Lamb and Liggins. Cal goes small and fast to see how it plays out. If Enes is unable to play expect this to be your starting five when the real season begins unless Vargas steps up. Sorry Jorts, I don't see any starts for you until Senior Day.
  • Louisville already kicked off their exhibition games last night against Northern Kentucky. The Norse cut the game by 9 but that's as close as they got. Rakeem Buckles will be the star this year (not Knowels or Siva), he had 18 points. Gorgui Dieng showed he deserves to start over Terrence Jennings by having a double-double out of the shoot. Don't get too excited though, it's just practice.

  • The Giants are beating Texas but none of you are watching (me included). This World Series has earned the worst ratings in the history of the storied event. This proves what we have all been saying for years: Football is now our nations past time.

  • The preseason NCAA Men's All American list is out and surprisingly Brandon Knight was not on it. The only Freshman on the list is North Carolina's Harrison Barnes. The rest of the team is made up of seniors and rightfully so. I'm not concerned. The final list after the regular season is what matters the most. See ya there Knight and Kanter! John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins were both on the list last year.

  • Oregon leap frogged Auburn in the BCS polls going from #2 to #1. I honestly don't have a problem with this and honestly I kind of do. I don't have a problem with it because Oregon is unbeaten and have blown everybody out. I do have a problem with it because Auburn is undefeated and has a more difficult schedule than Oregon. I'm happy for Oregon because they deserve it. As long as Boise State doesn't get in, I am happy. That's why we need playoffs.

That's all for now! Hopefully we will hear more about Enes Kanter in the coming days. Enjoy the game tonight! I know I will.
