Did the Oracle see this coming?

Over the last 2 years, I’ve been venturing to various sporting complexes: The Toyota Center, home of the Houston Rockets; AT&T Park, home of the World Series Champion San Francisco Giants; Rupp Arena, home of the Kentucky Wildcats; Lucas Oil Field, home of the Indianapolis Colts; Freedom Hall, second home of the Kentucky Wildcats and others.

This past week I was able to witness the worst place I’ve ever watched a game. Yes football, basketball pro or college, or baseball, Oracle Arena in Oakland, California, the home of bugs, rats, concrete, and the Golden State Warriors took the cake.

Like a Louisville football game, attendance of Wednesday’s game at tip was roughly 40% capacity. As the game wore on, the crowd in to a total of just over 16,000.

Rumors on Twitter have suggested that the city of Louisville has been in talks to acquire the Sacramento Kings franchise. I would suggest the Warriors might also be in the thought mix after witnessing the mockery… besides Louisville needs some basketball to be played in the new Yum! Center, with recruiting classes like 2010 Rick Pitino’s Cards don’t look to be capable for at least a few years.

On that note, how funny would it be to have Rick Pitino, who was said to be interested in coaching the Kings last summer, coach basketball in the same place as his former employment interest… you just can’t make this up!
