Coach Calipari: Quiet from the sidelines

In practice, the sound of shoes squeaking on the hardwood, players hitting the deck, skin rubbing on the floor, and players calling plays is not atypical. When you're a UK Men's Basketball player, you can also add the background voice of Coach John Calipari enthusiastically yelling coaching his team at the top of his lungs. If you've ever had the pleasure of attending Rupp Arena in the lower rows, you know that until crunch time or the occasional double digit run against an opponent, every call the Wildcat coach has to say is audible.

Well, rather it is cold weather related (the temperature has dropped suddenly in the bluegrass) or just a plain cold, Coach John Calipari hasn't been heard barking orders to the team this week in practice and his voice may not make the flight to Portland and ultimately Hawaii.

Imagine if you lived close to a train track, you become familiar with the roar next to your bedroom for years and all of a sudden, one day it stops - you can't sleep. Well, Coach Cal is the Wildcat players white noise and it is showing via tweet:
