An Interesting Take on the Kanter Ruling

This Kyle Parker. He has a $1.4 million contract with the Colorado Rockies. He is also the quarterback of a college team and is considered an amateur.

Gregg Doyel of CBSSports.com wrote an excellent article on the Enes Kanter ruling. This is very interesting in the fact that he mentioned something that me or nobody else for that matter has mentioned before: what about the college athletes that have professional baseball contracts?

Doyel points out Clemson's Kyle Parker, a kid that has a $1.4 million dollar contract with the Colorado Rockies right now. He is playing for the Clemson Tigers. How is this ok but Kanter taking $30,000 dollars for education in another country that goes by different rules is not? Kanter never signed a contract.

There are more instances of this: Chris Weinke at Florida State(minor leagues), Jeff Samardja at Notre Dam (Cubs), Josh Botty at LSU (Marlins), Quincy Carter at Georgia (Cubs), and the list goes on. These players SIGNED CONTRACTS worth hundreds of thousands of dollars up to millions of dollars while in college. How is this ok? The NCAA is corrupt as hell. How is Kanter a pro but Charlie Parker an amateur?
