It's Just DePauling

#15 Louisville faces DePaul at the Yum! Center today in a small time Big East matchup. DePaul comes into the game 6-15 overall and 0-9 in the conference, while #15 Louisville (17-5 overall, 6-3 conference) comes in looking to improve their 4th place standing in the Big East and while this isn't a resume builder, it most definitely should be a stat stuffer for Rick Pitino and his Cards.

DePaul has lost to the Western Carolina Catamounts, Indiana State Sycamores, and Cal State Northridge Matadors, has an RPI of 239, and with first year head coach of Oliver Purnell, who has no relation to Cal Purnell, "their no good".

A 6-15 start with nothing but conference games remaining is not a position for improvement for a team that went 1-17 in conference last year. The Blue Demons may be reconsidering not looking elsewhere during their April head coach search (I didn't even get a phone interview!). If Oliver Purnell, has the qualifications they were looking for, maybe they should put "winner" in the job description.

Boy, that Big East... tough

  4. "Boy, that Big East... tough" You make this statement based on Depaul. Five out of the 12 teams in teh SEC are sub-100 teams...their rankings are 282 (worse than Depaul's which apparently makes the Big East weak according to you, so what does that make the SEC?), 192, 165, 114, and 103. Arkansas is climbing steady at 97th ranked...and Ole Miss at 68. Half of the Big East has an RPI ranking inside the top 20, with Louisville at 21 for a 9th team inside the top 25.

Here is a list of some powerhouse teams that have beaten the amazingly awesome SEC this season:
    UNC Asheville
    Campbell
    Samford
    Nicholls State
    Coastal Carolina
    North Texas
    Wichita State
    UAB
    Furman
    Rice
    Oakland
    Charleston Southern
    Jacksonville
    Central Florida

Yeah...in comparison to the Big East, the SEC is just amazing....way to try to bash a conference based on one team's ranking. Especially considering the Conference you are pumping up has a team rated around 50 spots LOWER than the one you're making fun of.

On the other hand...Kentucky did defeat Louisville, since that's the only argument you have, congrats. Louisville is officially UK's best win of the season (or ND).
