Who is Ricardo Ledo?

A name that has been popping up an awful lot lately on the fronts of the Cats and the Cards is Ricardo Ledo. I really haven't heard too much about the guy, so before we jump into the essential question of "Who is Ricardo Ledo?", let's get the vital statistics first:
Position: Shooting Guard
Class: 2012
Rank: 5 Stars
Height: 6'6
Weight: 180
Overall Rank: 11
Position Rank: 2

Schools in Consideration: Kentucky, Louisville, Syracuse, UConn and Kansas

Ledo was committed verbally to Providence. Why Providence, you ask? Because that is his hometown. He recently pulled his verbal and decided to "...view my other options..." he said because "I've never been anywhere else," as far as other schools are concerned. Players on his talent level usually don't look at Providence. They look at the schools above mentioned.

One of those schools can be taken off of the list. Jeff Goodman's twitter account stated this quote from Jeff Goodman: "A source close to the situation has told me Rick Pitino and Louisville will not go after Ricky Ledo following him re-opening his recruitment." So cross that school off the list. Better for him anyway.

So where does that leave the Wildcats? He visited the Cats on December 28th to watch them beat Coppin State and, more importantly, he visited the YUUUUMMMM!!! Center to watch the Cats beat the bird poop out of the Cards on December 31, which explains why Pitino has given up on recruiting the kid. Jeff Goodman said right now, for Ledo, it's "Kentucky and everyone else." Good news for the Cats.

But before we get too excited about this awesome talent, he comes with baggage. None of which is truly his fault. Hew grew up in a terrible area of Providence. He saw his father get shot and killed, his brother went to prison for gun possession and he also saw his uncle get shot and killed. He was in with a rough crowd but he then transferred to a prep school. His coaches are now trying to change the kids life and put him back on the right track. He has never been arrested for anything and nobody complains about his personality.

He is very impulsive kid and is trying to figure out what he wants and realizes that there is a world outside of Providence.

Let's end this on a positive note: He Dougies and he throws the John Wall in for some added flavor. God Bless you John for bringing this dance to the world.
