Condolences to Krebs

Mark Krebs and his mother Terri on Senior Day in Lexington.

Sportsthat would like to take this opportunity to send out our condolences to former UK guard Mark Krebs and his family. Krebs' mother lost a nine year battle with cancer and passed away Wednesday.

Krebs was a walk on under coaches Tubby Smith and Billy Gillispie. John Calipari gave Krebs a scholarship for his senior season at Kentucky, a classy move made by a coach that cares about his players. Calipari released a statement saying, "One of the special parts of our first year in Kentucky was being able to coach Mark and to get to know him and his family."

Krebs' former teammates Jon Hood and Demarcus Cousins tweeted their sympathies saying "Please keep the Krebs family in your thoughts and prayers. Love ya brother."(Hood) and "i knw this is a hard time for my brother krebs...but i got your back bruh and if u ever need anything i got u, u and ur family will b in my prayers." (Cousins)

It's nice to see the family that Krebs had on the court extending to be his family off of the court as well. Krebs was not a superstar as a Wildcat, but whenever he got in the game and had a chance to shoot the ball, Rupp Arena would hold it's breath in anticipation for a made basket. Whenever Krebs did make a three pointer the place erupted and the joy on the faces of his teammates showed how much they cared.
