It was only back last March that we here at SportsThat shared our condolences for the University of Georgia on the passing of UGA VII. The Wildcats played the Dawgs and Russ, the half brother of UGA VII, stood on the sideline as a stand in.
Today, UGA VIII passed. UGA VIII was diagnosed with lymphoma last month and had only taken over full time duties since October. Russ will once again become the interim mascot until UGA IX can be named.
As a bulldog lover but Wildcat fan, we shed a tear for you UGA VIII.
