I guess Louisville football fans were expecting a new regime and a new standard when Charlie Strong rode into town. Well, they were wrong.
Two Louisville football players, twins no less, have just been charged with assaulting a teammate after practice on October 24th. Brothers and red shirt freshmen Jacob and Issac Geffrad have been individually charged with assaulting fellow Cardinal Patrick Grant in the locker room of the Oven.
How bad was the alleged assault? Bad enough to leave Grant with a broken nose and a fractured eye socket. He has had multiple surgeries to save his eyesight and to repair the socket.
While the reason for the fight is currently unknown, I have my own speculations:
- A dance off went terribly, terribly wrong.
- Grant stole the hairbrush of one of the Geffrad Brothers
- One of the Geffrad brothers mistook Grant for his Baby Mama
- One of the Brothers overheard that Grant had definitive evidence that Rick Pitino did in fact threaten to put Karen Sypher and her children into the concrete of a New York bridge
And I could go on and on. I wonder which one of Chuck's Cardinal Virtues were violated here? Unfortunately Strong left out Virtue Number Six: Any Louisville player shall not beat the crap out of their teammates and send them to the hospital and then get charged for it. Good thing Little Chavez Jurich was able to cover this story up while the season was still in full swing.
Louisville Cardinal Athletics: The Pride and the Standard of Virtue in the NCAA. I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried.
Didn't the UK QB/Senior/ Captain just get arrested for beating up his girlfriend while hammered(rhetorical question douche)? LMAO@ this!! Top 25 recruiting class, that's what HCCS is bringing into town with him. See you in Lexington this September, CAN'T WAIT!!!
ReplyDeleteHe was arrested for being intoxiated but unlike the Louisville football player case assualt charges were never pressed or filed.
ReplyDeleteHasn't UK won the past 4 football games and 2 basketball games in a row? (rhetorical question) LMAO@This. Since this is the case then I guess you should change your name to UKsUrDaddy. Thank you for reading and for your comments, Bart Scott, Jr.
It's always nice when Little Brother stops by for a visit.
Idiot, this assault happened in 2009 under Steve Kragthorpe. That giant sucking sound you hear is your story line.
ReplyDeleteDo we really want to compare police blotter? Lets not act like there are a bunch of chior boys playing D-1 FB/BB.
ReplyDelete****
-Chuck Hayes, Rape at the Wildcat Lodge(she dropped the charge$$$$$, thank you Alumni Association)
-Steve Johnson, resisting arrest
-Mike Heartline, Assaulting a woman
-Darnell Dodson, disorderly conduct(fight)
-Ashton Cobb, Stalking& terroristic threatening
-Matt Roark, DUI
-Vincent Burns,Tazzed and arrested, disorderly conduct.
-How about the 3 UK football players/child molesters arrested for "sexual comments" to a 10-year-old boy and a 12-year-old boy who were riding their bikes. The three came out of the bushes and off the porch. The two told the kids, "We are big fags ... come up here so we can have a big orgy," the report said.
They also told the kids to "show some respect for UK football players," according to the report.
-Lets not forget my all time favorite: Kentucky basketball players Ralph Beard, Alex Groza and Dale Barnstable for accepting $500 bribes to shave points in an NIT game
By the 12:00 a.m. time of this post I guess you looked all of this stuff up for a few hours. Kudos to you.
ReplyDeleteFunny how some of what you put was either A). Dismissed or proven to be false, or B). Happened after the individual was kicked off the team.
I could have gone on with your boys in red as well. Let's not forget Spillman, Jennings, Smith, Williams, and the little incident where you've actually had Cardinal on Cardinal homicide in the streets of Louisville. And I could go on from here with many other scenarios like you did.
The fact is that both teams have had questionable people in their programs but UofL's seems to be more often and most recent. The best thing about all of this is that your little brother comlex gets all riled up and you stay up searching for "gotcha" moments until 12 a.m. to post them on my blog.
Again, thanks for reading and we appreciate the posts.
Good analysis but try again. All that info was gathered in about 5 minutes before I went to bed after an evening of studying Spanish and Macro-Economics. Just Google search "UK player arrested." I just think it's funny that you would post a story like this, about 2 Kragthorpe recruits that have been dismissed no less, and then point to CS's "lack of institutional control" or WETF you were trying to do, as the precipice for the incident. FYI, I only ended up on "your blog" because one of "your readers" posted the link on a a Louisville blog.
ReplyDeleteEither way, my point stands. You can't show me a D-1 FB/BB team with no players getting into trouble with the law. So for you to point to one as the fan of another and say "thug-U" well,.... pot, meet kettle.
BTW, you wanna talk about a gotcha moment? WTF was this story? A tisk-tisk moment? A it's a darn shame those things are going no at Louisville moment? LMAO@U(K)! What's the matter? Charlie's quick turnaround and top25 recruiting class gotcha a wittle scared? More likely that you know what we do. We've never had a guy who could bring in the talent like CS can, not even Bobby an he used to light up score boards like Christmas trees when we played sUcK. Now that we've got someone even better, it must really sUcK to know those kind of beat-downs (at the hands of "little brother") are on their way in short order. That is all. I shan't return to "your blog." Unless someone else feels the need to throw one of your hateful stories in my face again.
ReplyDeleteRED Shirt doesnt constitute Cardinal Fan....I give you this challenge try to find one season that didnt have someone in trouble from both teams. YOu need to stop hating on UL and show some respect for the team that going to Beat you to death in the next 4 years! Go Cards!
